Striving
for Gender Justice: Intersectional Perspectives on Socio-cultural Transformation.
This panel discussion features academic, policy and activist work on working for gender justice while
also incorporating issues of race, class, religion, nation, and disability. The goal of the panel is to highlight individuals
who are working in the intersections of identity to promote social change and cultural transformations.
-How does striving for gender justice figure into our work and what are
ways to promote coalitions across difference to operationalize intersectional perspectives?
-How can we strengthen connections between theoretical work and activist work?
-How do we prioritize gender justice work that does not reproduce a static
notion of gender bipolarity?
-How can we reinvigorate
social justice work to continually reach out to multiple and diverse constituencies?
These and other questions will be discussed
at this event. Speakers will be followed by time for questions and comments.
